At NLOP, the cybersecurity of our players is most important, and while we have extensive protocols on our Poker.NLOP.com site, our Social Media can sometimes be harder to manage. Scammers often create fake profiles and post spam comments to trick players into clicking malicious links. The safety of our Social Media followers is important to us and we want to make sure you know how to best protect yourself against scams and fraudulent accounts. Here’s how to spot and avoid them:
1. Check For The Name of The Commenter and/or Poster
Our posts come from our official pages – if something looks off, double-check the username for extra characters or typos. Here is the official names of NLOP’s Social Medias:
- Facebook: National League of Poker
- Instagram: OfficialNLOP
- Twitter (X): NLOPdotcom
- TikTok: NLOPdotcom
Here are some examples of what a comment from us will look like:
On Facebook, our comments will be labeled as “Author” as seen in the photo above. NLOP will never comment with hashtags or links! And remember – for our giveaways, NLOP will always message you directly and list the winners the next day. Don’t fall for scamming comments with hashtags and links.
2. Be Wary of “Too Good to Be True” Offers
❌ If a comment claims you’ve won a massive prize or says you can get unlimited free tokens by clicking a link, it’s a scam.
❌ NLOP never asks for your personal information (passwords, banking details) in comments or messages.
3. Look for Poor Grammar or Generic Replies
Scammers often use bad grammar, weird capitalization, or generic responses like:
- “CONGRATULATIONS!!! You won free tokens! Click here: [random link]”
- “WOW! Big win for you! Just confirm details 👉 [suspicious link]”
⚠ If the message sounds automated, sketchy, or unrelated to the post, ignore and report it. - If one of our Social Media name is not listed next to the profile picture – IT IS A SCAM
What to Do If You See a Fake NLOP Account or Spam Comment
If you spot a suspicious comment or fake NLOP profile, take action:
🔴 DO NOT click any links or respond to the scammer.
🔴 Report the fake account on the social media platform.
🔴 Let us know! Send a message to our official support team so we can take action.
